CONTROLS
Approach control warning
with light braking function
Principle
The Approach control warning with light brak-
ing function warns of a possible risk of collision
and may brake independently.
In the event of an accident, the system may
reduce impact speed.
General information
Sensors detect the traffic situation in their de-
tection range.
The system issues a warning of a possible risk
of collision with vehicles at speeds above ap-
prox. 3 mph/5 km/h. The timing of warnings
may vary with the current driving situation.
The system considers the driver's vehicle han-
dling when responding. If an active driving
style is detected, warnings and brake interven-
tions occur less frequently.
Safety information
Follow the safety information in Chapter "For-
ward Collision Mitigation".
Display in the instrument cluster
A warning icon is displayed when a collision
with a detected vehicle is imminent.
