An external paper supply must
be protected from dust, sand,
grit, etc. Any hard particles,
however small, can damage the
printhead.

The following restrictions apply to paper rolls fitted inside the printer.
Only the width and web thickness restrictions apply to external pa-
per supplies.

The web must be wound up on the core in such a way that the
printer can pull the end of the web free. Otherwise the thermal
transfer ribbon may be damaged.

The maximum recommended web thickness is 175 m. A thicker
web may be used, but print quality will be reduced. Web stiffness is
also important and must be balanced against web thickness to main-
tain print quality.
Paper rolls fitted inside the printer should be wound with the print-
able side facing outwards.
