Intermec EasyCoder 601 XP – Installation & Operation Ed. 3
The fan fold guides are useful for providing a more exact guiding of
the paper, when the paper supply is placed outside the paper com-
partment, e.g. in the form of a stack of fan-folded tickets. The guides
come as a field-installable kit with complete installation instruc-
tions.
There are a number of ways to fit the guides, depending on whether
the upper or lower slot in the rear plate is going to be used.
Instructions for loading the paper is included in the section "Exter-
nal Supply" in chapter 5 "Paper Load".
For demanding applications, the paper guide at the rear part of the
print unit can be supplemented with a second paper guide fitted on
the label slack absorber. This guide is included in the delivery.
Two 3 inch/76 mm adapters are included in each delivery of the
EasyCoder 601 XP and makes it possible to use paper rolls with 3
inch/76 mm inner diameter paper cores.
The adapters are pressed onto the paper supply spool and held in
place by screws. When fitting the adapters, make sure that the screws
hit a rounded plastic surface, not the metal leaf springs. Illustrations
of how to load the paper using the adapters are to be found in chap-
ter 5 "Paper Load".
The Label-Taken Sensor (LTS) is a photoelectric sensor fitted in-
side the front door, which enables the printer's firmware to detect if
the latest printed label, ticket, tag etc. has been removed before
printing another copy.
The label-taken sensor is usually factory-fitted, but is also available
as a kit for installation by an authorized service technician. It can-
not be fitted in combination with a paper cutter.
The LTS can be enabled or disabled by means of the instructions
LTS& ON and LTS& OFF respectively in Intermec Fingerprint and
the Intermec Direct Protocol.
