Pre-Import Task Overview

1.
Install Hyper-V 2008 R2 or Hyper-V 2012 on a Windows Server operating system. For more
information about how to install Hyper-V, visit the following website:

From the DVD, download the self-extractable .exe file.

Make sure that two physical Ethernet adapters are available on the host machine and that
they are connected, enabled, and up.
4.
Make sure that two virtual network switches are available and bound to the two physical
Ethernet adapters. To do this, see
the Physical Ethernet Adapters" (page
NOTE:
If you use the default settings when you configure the Hyper-V service on a server that
is running Windows Server, one virtual network adapter is created and bound to the first physical
Ethernet adapter.
Creating Virtual Network Adapters and Binding Them to the Physical Ethernet
Adapters
1.
In the Actions pane of the Hyper-V Manager application, click Virtual Network Manager.
2.
In the Virtual Network Manager dialog box, click New virtual network, select External,
and then click Add.
3.
In the Virtual Network Properties area, enter a name for the virtual network in the Name
field. Then, click to select External and enter the name of the adapter you want to connect
the network to. Make sure that the Allow management operating system to share this
network adapter check box is selected.
4.
Click Apply.

Importing the VSP into Hyper-V Using a Virtual Hard Drive Package

1.
From the DVD, download the appropriate virtual hard drive package for the service processor
version that you are running.
2.
Run the package as administrator.
3.
At the prompt, enter the name of the virtual machine that you want to set, and then press
Enter. The import process starts.
NOTE:
imported, the script lists the available network switches. At the prompt, enter two switches
from this list that you want to connect to the virtual-machine legacy network adapters.
If the switches that you select are not present on the host Hyper-V machine, you will receive
an error message, and the process will stop.
4.
To verify that the VSP has been imported, locate the VSP name in the Virtual Machines
area of the Server Manager dialog box in the Hyper-V Manager application.
