COOLING SYSTEM
Troubleshooting
If the cooling system should become inoperative,
the troubleshooting aids will be useful.
Check battery for voltage and specific
gravity (Refer to "Battery Inspection"
section.)
Low voltage
and low
specific
gravity
Recharge battery.
OK
Check entire cooling system for
connections (Refer to "WIRING
DIAGRAM" section.)
OK
Check fuse and fuse connections.
OK
Check thermo-unit resistance
(Refer to "Thermo-unit Resistance
Test" section.)
OK
Check temperature gauge condition
(Refer to "Temperature Gauge
Test" section.)
Poor
connection
Weak connec-
tion or open
circuit
If other
than
specified
Poor
condition
Correct.
Correct connection or
replace fuse.
Replace thermo-unit.
Replace temperature
gauge.
Thermo-unit Resistance Test
1.
Remove:
• Thermo-unit
WARNING:
Handle the thermo-unit with special care.
Never subject it to strong or allow it to be
dropped. Should it be dropped, it must be
replaced.
2.
Connect:
• Pocket Tester (90890-03104)
Set the tester selector to "Ohm x 100"
position.
3.
Measure:
• Thermo-unit
resistance
Out of specification ^ Replace.
