SIGNAL SYSTEM
Troubleshooting
If the signal system should become inoperative,
the troubleshooting aids will be useful.
Check bulb conditions of flasher
lights, indicator lights and brake
light.

Check battery for voltage and
specific gravity (Refer to "Battery
Inspection" section.)
Poor

Low voltage
and low
specific
gravity
Replace butb(s)
Recharge battery.
OK
Check entire signal system for
connections (Refer to "WIRING
DIAGRAM" section.)
Poor

Correct.

Check fuse and fuse connections.
Weak connec-
tion or open
circuit
Correct connection or
replace fuse.
OK
Check condition of each circuit
for signal system (Refer to "Signal
System Test and Checks" and
"Switched Inspection" section.)

Replace poor condition

Signal System Tests and Checks
NOTE:
The battery provides power for operation of the
horn, flasher lights, indicator light and brake
light. If none of the above operates, always
check the battery voltage before proceeding fur-
ther. Low battery voltage indicates either a faulty
battery, low battery electrolyte, or a defective
