When you press  (play), the unit starts playing the

track that was last stopped. If, however, the unit was
turned off after pressing  (stop), the unit will start
playing from the first track.

For numbers from 10 onward, press a numeric button

for each digit (e.g., for 124: press [1], [2] and [4]).

The information that is displayed when you press the

DISPLAY button depends on the unit's status. When
the unit is stopped, the free space on the "WALKMAN"
or the USB device, or clock is displayed. When the
unit is playing, ID3 tag information, clock, etc. are
displayed.

Notes
 Make sure to stop the playback before disconnecting
the "WALKMAN" or the USB device from the unit.
 When connecting a "WALKMAN" or a USB device to
the
(USB) port, make sure not to connect the unit
and the "WALKMAN" or the USB device through a
USB hub.
 This unit does not necessarily support all the functions
provided in the connected "WALKMAN" or USB
device.
 The free space indicated on this unit may differ from
the actual free space on the "WALKMAN" or the USB
device.
Notes on the USB device
 With some connected USB devices, after an operation
is performed, there may be a delay before it is
performed by the unit.
 This unit does not necessarily support all the functions
provided in a connected USB device.
 Music files are played back in alphabetical order in each
folder.
 Do not save other types of files or unnecessary folders
on a USB device that has audio files.
 Folders that have no audio files are skipped.
 The maximum numbers of folders and files that can be
contained on a single USB device are as follows:
— 1,000 folders (including the root folder)
— 10,000 files
The maximum number of files and folders may vary
depending on the file and folder structure.
 The following audio formats can be played back by this
unit (files with copyright protection (Digital Rights
Management) cannot be played by this unit).
— MP3 (".mp3")
— WMA(".wma")

— AAC (".m4a", ".mp4"*)
Note that even when file names have the above file
extensions, if the actual file differs, the unit may
produce noise or may malfunction.
* Only audio files can be played by this unit. Movie
files cannot be played.
 Compatibility with all encoding/writing software,
recording devices, and recording media may produce
noise, interrupted audio, or may not play at all.
