7. Install the lift assist spring screw.

8. Install the deck belt.
9. Connect the battery by installing the positive cable first, then the negative
cable to the battery.
1. Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the PTO. Stop the
engine, wait for all moving parts to stop and remove the key. Engage the
parking brake.
2. Remove the deck belt.
3. Remove the height-of-cut pin. Lower the deck until it's on the floor and there
is slack in the chains.
4. Remove the 2 (3/8 inch) lock nuts and carriage bolts securing the deck strut
to the frame.
