USB Interface
The USB interface can be used to establish a connection between the merging unit and your PC. For the com-
munication, the Microsoft Windows USB driver is used which is installed together with DIGSI (as of version
V4.90 SP1 or higher). The interface is installed as a virtual serial COM port. We recommend the use of standard
USB cables with a maximum length of 5 m/16 ft.

Note
If you connect the HMI to the device via cable, use the USB port of the HMI. In this case, the maximum length
of your USB connecting cable is 2 m.
GPS Interface
Via the SMB socket, you can connect an active GPS antenna (5 V max. 50 mA such as Trimble® Bullet™ III
GPS antenna).
If no GPS interface is available, there is a cover instead.
If you have connected the device to the PC via Ethernet, you will receive status information regarding GPS re-
ception via the EN100 Web page.
PPS/IRIG-B Interface
Via the ST socket, you can connect an active optical IRIG-B (B005, B007, IEE1344)/PPS signal.
