7.5.1

Loop Learn

During a loop learn, the panel interrogates every device fitted on a selected loop to identify their address and
to find out the type of device. This provides the opportunity to identify any missing devices, double-addressed
devices, incomplete loops as well as wrong device types.

Auto Address

This function may be used as an alternative to the Loop Learn function.
During an auto address, the panel automatically assigns an address to each loop device in sequentially wired order.
When the AUTO ADDRESS prompt appears, press the Accept button to confirm that you want to continue with
the loop learn.
You now have two options as detailed below:
Option 1:
CAUTION: USING THIS OPTION WILL COMPLETELY ERASE THE PANEL'S DATABASE OF
STORED LOOP DEVICE DATA. THEREFORE, USE WITH EXTREME CARE.
Only select this option if the panel has not previously been programmed, or if you want to program an existing
system as if it were a new system, and you are confident to proceed.
The panel will erase its database of stored loop devices, re-assign all the loop devices with a new address and start
a loop learn.
Option 2:
If you do not want to erase the stored loop device data, select this option.
The panel will start to learn the loop from the last known address in its memory. Existing data will not be
overwritten, e.g. zone and group allocation, device names, etc., will remain unchanged. The only data that will be
overwritten is device type and whether or not it is fitted.
Depending on the installation size, the loop learn process can take several minutes. When the loop learn is
complete a summary window is displayed.
