Unpacking the I-Series Switch

Inspect the contents for any signs of physical damage. Contact Enterasys Networks if it is
damaged. Refer to
I-Series switch
RJ45 to DB9 adapter (for use with the console port if necessary)
Self-adhesive rubber feet
Dust covers for the unused cable connectors
Various documentation
Various screws
Industrial Mini-GBIC retention bracket(s).
The optional kits you may need to install the I-Series switch include the following:
If installing into a 19-inch rack, order the optional rack-mount kit, part number
I3H-RACK-MNT.
If installing to a DIN rail, order the optional DIN rail kit, part number I3H-DIN-KIT.
If an AC to DC power supply is required, order part number I3H-PWR.
If a memory card is required, order part number I3H-MEM.
Note: Unpack the I-Series switch components only as needed. Leave the components in their
respective shipping cartons until you are ready to install that component. Save all shipping
materials in the event that the chassis has to be repacked.

Note: The bracket for use with fiber industrial grade Mini-GBICs (I-MGBIC-GSX, I-MGBIC-GZX and
I-MGBIC-GLX) is installed on the uplink ports at the time of shipment. The bracket for use with
copper industrial grade Mini-GBICs (I-MGBIC-GTX) is not installed at the time of shipment and is
packaged separately.
Notes: Mini-GBICs for the uplink ports are shipped separately.
