Basic Configurations

The IPC Machine Controller supports the following system configurations.
Port 1
Ethernet
SD Memory
Card
PCIe Card
HDD / SSD
CFast Card
RS-232C
The Windows operating system has all interfaces an Industrial PC requires:
• 1 Ethernet port to connect with regular Ethernet networks and to be able to connect with databases,
MES- and ERP systems and other IIoT applications
• 4 USB ports to connect peripheral device
• 1 or 2 DVI ports to connect one or two monitors
• 1 optional RS-232 port to connect (legacy) peripheral devices and factory automation devices
• 1 optional NYML port to connect an Omron Industrial Monitor using a single cable
• 2 bays for HDD and/or SSD storage devices
• 1 SD Memory Card slot for removable storage
• 1 CFast Card slot for removable storage
• 1 PCIe Card Slot to add support for other (industrial) networks or peripheral ports
The Machine Controller Software has 2 Ethernet ports assigned.
• 1 EtherCAT port for (real-time) communication with EtherCAT Slaves, like I/O controls, servo drives
and safety devices.
• 1 EtherNet/IP port for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, communication to other Control-
lers and HMI's. The EtherNet/IP port is also used to connect with the Box PC with the Sysmac Stu-
dio to configure, program and monitor the Machine Controller Software and connected EtherCAT
Slaves.
