6.3 Configuring the 3RW5 Soft Starter
6.3.2.3 Station address
Before the 3RW5 soft starter can be addressed as a slave by a Modbus RTU master, the
3RW5 communication module must have a station address. The station address of the
3RW5 communication module must match the station address in the Modbus application so
that the Modbus RTU master can communicate.
Selection of the station address
Observe the following points when selecting the station address:
● 3RW5 soft starters are preset to station address 126 as the factory default. Set another
station address during configuration.
● The station address can be set in a range from 1 to 247.
Assigning or setting station address
If you assign the station address to the 3RW5 soft starter online or set it directly on the
3RW5 soft starter, the station address is stored in the 3RW5 communication module. The
3RW5 soft starter is accessible via the assigned or set station address after a restart of the
3RW5 communication module and can be addressed by a Modbus RTU master.
