Operation
Status Byte Message Check. This
check determines whether or not
the Modulation Analyzer sends
the Status Byte
message in b o t h the local
and
remote modes. This check assumes that
the Modulation
Analyzer i s able to handshake, recognize i t s
own
address.

Description
Place the Modulation Analyzer in serial-
poll mode and address it to talk (causing
it to send the Status Byte message).
Display the value of V.
Depending on the vintage of the HP-
IB interface (HP 98034A) used, the
Modulation Analyzer's TALK annunci-
ator may be either on or off. The con-
troller's display should read 0.00 (HP
9825A) or 0 (HP 9835A and HP 9845A).
Send the Remote message
Place the Modulation Analyzer in serial-
poll mode and address it to talk (causing
it
to send the Status Byte message).
Display the value of V.
Check that the Modulation Analyzer's
REMOTE annunciator is on. Depend-
ing upon the vintage of the HP-IB in-
terface (HP 98034A) used, the Mod-
ulation Analyzer's TALK annuncia-
tor may be either on or off. The con-
troller's display should read 0.00 (HP
9825A) or 0
(HP
9835A and HP 9845A).
