y Use fixed text to write a message
A character string registered in advance can be appended to a message text.
Refer to "Registering a standard message" (page 35) for the registration method.

Follow Steps 1-7 in "Creating and sending messages"
(page 33).

Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [MTXT], then press
the DIAL knob.
A list of fixed text messages will be displayed.

Rotate the DIAL knob to select a standard message,
then press the DIAL knob.

The selected fixed text will be entered.
You can repeat these steps to continue selecting
standard messages.

Press and hold the DIAL knob.
Return to the APRS MESSAGE EDIT screen.

Press the [F(SETUP)] key.

Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [M-TX], then press
the DIAL knob.
The message will be sent and the display will return to
the frequency screen.
Using the reply function
You can also reply to a station that has sent an APRS message.

Rotate the DIAL knob to select the partner station.
Select the partner station to reply to in the APRS MESSAGE LIST screen.

Press the [F(SETUP)] key.

Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [REPLY], then press the DIAL knob.
The display will change to the APRS MESSAGE EDIT screen.

Press the [F(SETUP)] key.

Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [EDIT TEXT], then press the DIAL knob.
The screen for editing text will be displayed.

Enter the characters
Enter the message according to the procedure in "Creating and sending
messages" (page 33) and "Use fixed text to write a message" (page 34).

Press the [F(SETUP)] key.

Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [M-TX], then press the DIAL knob.
The message will be sent and the display will return to the frequency screen.
