STEP 2: Deciding on an Installation Site

Information is provided in "To Ensure Safe Use" (P. 6). Be sure to read this guide prior to installing or
connecting the printer.
Install the machine in a quiet, stable location offering good operating conditions. An unsuitable location
can cause accidents, fire, faulty operation, or breakdown.
Ensure adequate ventilation for the work area.
CAUTION
Failing to perform ventilation may result in a health hazard or danger of combustion due to ink fumes.
Unsuitable installation sites
The following locations can cause malfunctions or poor printing quality.
• Locations subject to large fluctuations in temperature or humidity
• Locations subject to shaking or vibration
• Locations where the floor is tilted, not level, or unstable
• Dusty locations
• Locations exposed to direct sunlight
• Locations near air-conditioning or heating equipment
• Locations exposed to water or moving air
• Locations exposed to considerable electrical or magnetic noise or other forms of electromagnetic energy
MEMO
When you install the machine, check that all four rubber feet of the machine contact the ground.
If any of the rubber feet do not contact the ground, you can adjust their height by rotating them.

Temperature and Humidity

Maintain the machine's optimal temperature and humidity even when the machine is not in use.
