Automatic 2-sided printing is available from all trays in the ColorQube 8870 printer, and in
ColorQube 8570 printer configurations with the automatic 2-sided printing option.
Automatic 2-Sided Printing Guidelines
Before printing a 2-sided document automatically, verify that the paper is a supported size and
type for the tray. For a list of supported paper sizes, see
For a list of paper types and weights that can be used for automatic 2-sided printing, print the
Paper Tips page from the control panel. For details, see
page 55.
The paper's short edge (the edge that gets loaded into the printer first) must have a length within
the range of 140–216 mm (5.5–8.5 in.).
The paper's long edge must have a length within the range of 211–356 mm (8.3–14 in.).
The paper must have a weight within the range of 60–120 g/m
For Trays 2–5, load paper facedown with the top of the paper pointed away from the printer.
For Tray 1, load paper faceup with the top of the paper pointed away from the printer.
The following paper and media cannot be used for automatic 2-sided printing:
Transparencies
Envelopes
Labels
Index Cards (3 x 5 in.)
A6 paper
Coated/glossy paper
Custom-size paper with a short edge under 5.5 inches or a long edge under 8.3 inches
Media of weights greater than 120 g/m
