General Troubleshooting

This section contains procedures to help you locate and resolve general problems with the printer.
Restarting the Printer
Some problems can be resolved by simply restarting the printer.
To restart the printer using the Restart feature:
1.
On the printer control panel, select Shut Down and then press OK.
2.
Select Restart Printer > OK.
3.
Select Restart the printer NOW? > OK.
To restart the printer using Standard Shutdown:
1.
Close the printer doors.
2.
Turn off the printer using the power switch located at the back right side of the printer.
3.
Within 10 seconds after turning off the printer, select Standard Shutdown on the printer control
panel.
4.
After the power down process completes, wait 30 seconds, then turn the power switch to On.
If the problem is not resolved by restarting the printer, or shutting down the printer and waiting 30
seconds and then turning the printer back on, refer to the table in this chapter that best describes the
problem. For more solutions, search the Online Support Assistant for information about the problem
you are having.
