General Lifting Considerations
Figure 4.
CLCH-SVX06A-EN • T-Series Climate Changer Air Handler IOM
Before lifting the unit, estimate the approximate center of gravity for lifting safety.
Because of the placement of internal components, the unit weight may be unevenly
distributed, with more weight in the coil and fan areas. Approximate unit weights are
provided in
"Unit Dimensions and Weights" section on page
submittals for actual section weights. Test the unit for proper balance and rigging
before lifting.
Always assemble unit at the installation site. Never bolt sections together before
rigging. Always rig subassemblies or sections as they ship from the factory. See the
unit submittal drawings for correct placement of sections.
Lift all sections individually using all lifting lugs provided (see
instructions for handling the inlet and exhaust hoods and pipe chase on
Unit lifting in the field
Make the loop of the sling parallel to the direction of airflow whenever possible.
Each of the cables used to lift the unit must be capable of supporting the entire weight
of the unit.
When hoisting the unit into position, use the proper rigging method, such as straps,
slings, spreader bars, or lifting lugs for protection and safety. The air handler is not
designed to be lifted or rigged from the top of the unit.
