Removing the tilt ram
Before removing the tilt cylinder, make
sure that the PTT rams are fully extended.
Otherwise, fluid could be expelled force-
fully from the PTT unit due to internal
pressure.
1. Remove the pipes a and b and pipe
joint adapter c.
2. Remove the circlip d, shaft e, and tilt
cylinder assembly f.

3. Loosen the tilt cylinder end screw g, and
then remove the tilt ram assembly.
Cylinder-end screw wrench h:

4. Drain the PTT fluid.

5. Cover the tilt cylinder opening with a rag
i, and then blow compressed air
through the hole a to remove the free
piston j. WARNING! When removing
the free piston, never look into the tilt
cylinder opening because the free
piston and PTT fluid could be expelled
forcefully.

1. Loosen the trim cylinder end screws a,
and then remove the trim ram assem-
blies.

2. Drain the fluid.
