Checking the hydraulic pressure
Check the hydraulic pressure. Check the
internal parts if out of specification.
Before removing the reservoir cap, make
sure that the PTT rams are fully extended.
Otherwise, fluid could be expelled force-
fully from the PTT unit due to internal
pressure.
1. Fully extend the PTT rams.
2. Place the PTT unit in an upright position.
3. Remove the reservoir cap a, and then
check the fluid level in the reservoir.
TIP:
If the fluid is at the proper level, a small
amount of fluid should flow out of the filler
hole.
4. If the fluid is below the proper level, add
the recommended fluid.
Recommended PTT fluid: ATF DEXRON II
5. Install the reservoir cap a, and then
tighten it to the specified torque.
Reservoir cap a:
7 N·m (0.7 kgf·m, 5.2 ft·lb)
6. Loosen the pipe joints b, and then
remove the pipe joint at the end a.
7. Install the special service tool c.
