Checking step
Measure the thermoswitch input voltage.
Check the thermoswitch for continuity.
Check for continuity between the ther-
moswitch and the engine ECM.
Check the cooling water inlet.
Check the impeller.
Check the Woodruff key.
Check the water pump housing.
Check the insert cartridge.
Check the outer plate cartridge.
Check the cooling water passage.
Check the thermostat.
Check the engine oil.
Check the engine oil leakage.
Check the valve seals and valves.
Check the piston rings.
Measure the oil pressure.
Check the oil pump.
Check the oil strainer.
Check the oil passage (power unit and
oil pump).
Replace the oil filter.
Checking step
gravity.
Check that the battery cables and termi-
nals are connected properly.
Check that the charging circuit is con-
nected properly, and that there is no
damage.
Measure the lighting coil output peak
voltage.
Measure the lighting coil resistance.
