Curl Correction on the Interface Decurler
Module
Tip:
The purpose of curl correction is to adjust paper curl as the paper leaves the printer, but
before the paper reaches the next inline finishing device. Use the Interface Decurler Module
(IDM) paper curl-correction feature while the printer is printing.
1. Printed media from the printer
2. Interface Decurler Module paper path
3. Printed media from the Interface Decurler Module to inline finishing device
As media enters the module, it moves to the decurler for curl correction. The decurler has a decurler
roll that applies pressure to the media, based on the following:
• System default: Auto is on.
• Manual selections made from the IDM control panel.
If you want to quickly adjust the media curl on the printed output, use the manual curl-up or curl-
down buttons. If the printed output contains too much curl after you use these buttons, for more
adjustment information, refer to
Module.
From the decurler, the printed media is cooled and routed from the Inserter Decurler Module to the
next inline finishing device that is connected to the printer.

Note:
When you select an Interface Decurler Module (IDM) curl-correction mode, the new
mode is applied to the next sheet that is delivered to the IDM.
