Driveshaft Removal and Installation

1. To prevent possible PTO engagement, disconnect
wire harness connector.
2. Remove socket head capscrews securing driveshaft
yoke to gearbox input shaft.
3. Slide yoke off of gearbox input shaft.
4. Remove socket head capscrews securing driveshaft
yoke to PTO shaft.
5. Slide yoke off of PTO shaft.
DANGER
DO NOT start the engine and engage the PTO
switch when PTO shaft is not connected to
gearbox on cutting unit. If engine is started
and PTO shaft is allowed to rotate, serious
injury could result.
6. To install the driveshaft, apply Never-seez or equiva­
lent to splines of gearbox input shaft and PTO shaft,
then reverse steps 1 - 5 of above instructions. Tighten
socket head capscrews at each end of driveshaft to a
torque of 20 - 25 ft-lb.
