Internal Fixed-Disk Options

Warning: Before installing additional fixed-disk drives,
ensure that the drives, cables, and fixed-disk drive adapter(s)
you intend to use are compatible. The following information
is designed to help you make that compatibility determination.
The IBM 6150 standard configuration has one fixed-disk drive
installed in drive position C. This drive is connected through a
fixed-disk and diskette drive cable bundle to one of three types of
fixed-disk and diskette drive adapters installed in adapter slot 1:
• IBM Personal Computer AT Fixed-Disk and Diskette Drive
Adapter

operate with R70, E70, El 14 or 310 megabyte fixed-disk drives.
Up to two R40 fixed-disk drives can be operated from a single
Personal Computer AT Fixed-Disk and Diskette Drive Adapter;
installation of a third internal R40 fixed-disk drive requires a
second Personal Computer AT Fixed-Disk and Diskette Drive
Adapter and a Fixed-disk and Diskette Drive Second Cable.
• IBM RT PC ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter
The IBM RT PC ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter is used
with the R70 fixed-disk drive and
E70, El 14 or 310 megabyte fixed-disk drives. Refer to "IBM RT
PC ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter" on page 2-54.
Up to two R70 fixed-disk drives can be operated from a single
IBM RT PC ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter; installation of a
third internal R70 fixed-disk drive requires a second IBM RT
PC ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter and a Fixed-disk and
Diskette Drive Second Cable.
