network
To connect the autoloader to an Ethernet network using an Ethernet cable,
complete the following steps:
__ 1. Insert one end of the cable into the 87691VX Tape Autoloader Ethernet
__ 2. Connect the other end of the cable to the network or directly to the server

You can use the 87691VX Tape Autoloader Ethernet interface to remotely monitor
operations, upgrade firmware, and create diagnostic listings. Configuring the
87691VX Tape Autoloader Ethernet interface typically involves specifying the
autoloader IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address. The IP address is used
to route information from the autoloader to the server. You can choose between
dynamic (server-assigned) or static (user-assigned) addressing for the IP address. If
you select dynamic addressing, you can view the current server-assigned IP
