Maintenance analysis procedures

This section provides step-by-step procedures for isolating problems with the
87691VX Tape Autoloader.
Purpose of the MAPs
Use the maintenance analysis procedures (MAPs) to check the following items:
Power cable
Power supply
Terminator
If a problem is detected, the procedure isolates the problem to the customer
replaceable unit (CRU), either the taped drive or the autoloader. For instructions
for removing and replacing a CRU, see to "Removal and replacement procedures"
on page 47.
Step 1: Power and fan
To determine whether the power and the fan are operating correctly, complete the

If the cartridge has been in use for a long time or if it has been used
frequently, try using a new cartridge.
