Injury to persons or damage to property may occur.
In potentially explosive atmospheres there is a risk of injury to persons or damage to
property if you connect or disconnect a live electrical circuit (such as connectors, fuses,
switches) when a TS Adapter IE is in operation.
Do not disconnect live circuits, except where the risk of explosion can be safely excluded.
For use under FM conditions, the TS Adapter IE must be installed in a cubicle with
minimum IP54 protection to IEC 60529.
Safety requirements for mounting
The TS Adapter IE is "open equipment" in accordance with the IEC 61131-2 standard, and
an "open type" in accordance with UL / CSA certification.
The alternative installation methods described below are stipulated in order to ensure safe
operation with respect to mechanical strength, flame resistance, stability and touch
protection:
●  I nstallation in a suitable cabinet
● Installation in a suitable cubicle
●  I nstallation in an appropriately equipped closed switchroom
Compliance with installation guidelines
The installation guidelines and safety instructions set out in this manual must be observed
during commissioning and operation.
Connecting peripherals
Interference immunity requirements are met when connected to an industrial standard
PC/modem in accordance with EN61000-6-2:2005.
Certification regulations
The TS Adapter IE Modem is designed for connection to the analog public
telecommunications network. In Germany, the device is connected by means of the supplied
standard cable with TAE connector and N-coding.
The TS Adapter IE ISDN is designed for connection to the digital public ISDN network. Use
the supplied standard ISDN cable for connection.
