Fault Detection

u Fault Displays, Causes, and Possible Solutions
Faults are detected for drive protection, and cause the drive to stop. Remove the cause of the fault and manually clear the
fault before attempting to run the drive again.
Digital Operator Display
24V (Lit)
Cause
The 24V power (CN3) is not input to the
controller in a state either the communication
option, PG option, or DI option board is
installed.
Digital Operator Display
bUS
Cause
No signal was received from the PLC.
Faulty communications wiring or an existing
short circuit.
Communications data error occurred due to
electrical interference.
The option card is damaged.
The option card is not properly connected to the
drive.
Digital Operator Display
CE
Cause
Faulty communications wiring or an existing
short circuit.
Communications data error occurred due to
electrical interference.

Table 5.12 Detailed Fault Displays, Causes, and Possible Solutions
Option Power Supply Error
• No input of 24V power detected
• Message: Option power Flt
Input 24 V power (CN3) to the controller.
Option Communication Error
• The connection was lost after establishing initial communication.
• Only detected when the Run command or frequency reference is assigned to an option card.
• Check for faulty wiring.
• Correct the wiring.
• Check for disconnected cables and short circuits and repair as needed.
• Check the various options available to minimize the effects of electrical interference.
• Counteract electrical interference in the control circuit, main circuit, and ground wiring.
• If the magnetic contactor is identified as a source of electrical interference, install a surge
protector to the MC coil.
• Use only recommended cables or other shielded line. Ground the shield on the controller side
or on the drive input power side.
• Separate all communication wiring from drive power lines. Install an EMC noise filter to the
drive input power supply.
Replace the option card if there are no problems with the wiring and the error continues to occur.
• The connector pins on the option card do not line up properly with the connector pins on the
drive.
• Reinstall the option card.
MEMOBUS/Modbus Communication Error
Control data was not received for the CE detection time set to H5-09.
