Auto-Tuning Fault Detection

◆ Auto-Tuning Codes, Causes, and Possible Solutions

The Auto-Tuning faults are shown below. When the following faults are detected, the fault is displayed on the digital
operator and the motor coasts to a stop. Auto-Tuning faults do not trigger a contact terminal set for fault or alarm output.

discrepancy in the calculations the drive made. If there is found to be no problem on checking the cause, use the tuning
value as it stands. If there is judged to be a problem, implement countermeasures and then perform Auto-Tuning again, or
set (input) the motor parameters manually.

Cause
In Stationary Auto-Tuning, the slip value

Excessive V/f Setting (detected only during Rotational Auto-Tuning, and displayed after
Auto-Tuning is complete)
• Before Auto-Tuning the drive, verify the information written on the motor nameplate and enter
that data to T1-03 through T1-05.
• Enter proper information to parameters T1-03 to T1-05 and repeat Auto-Tuning.
• If possible, disconnect the motor from the load and perform Auto-Tuning. If the load cannot be
uncoupled, use the current Auto-Tuning results.
Motor Iron Core Saturation Coefficient Error (detected only during Rotational Auto-Tuning and
displayed after Auto-Tuning is complete)
• Make sure the data entered to the T1 parameters match the information written on the motor
nameplate.
• Enter the correct information and restart Auto-Tuning.
• Check and correct faulty motor wiring.
• Disconnect the motor from machine and perform Rotational Auto-Tuning.
Rated Current Setting Alarm (displayed after Auto-Tuning is complete)
• Check the setting of parameter T1-04.
• Check the motor data and repeat Auto-Tuning.
Adjusted Slip Calculation Error
• Check the value input for T1-
• Execute Rotational Auto-Tuning.
Resistance Tuning Error
Double-check the data entered for the Auto-Tuning process.
