Temperature/Humidity Sensor
This sensor is a small PCB located on the bottom, rear of the Toner
Cartridge Eject Assembly. It monitors the environment of the printer and
adjusts various engine parameters accordingly. It does this at: Power
On, after a cartridge eject, after a certain number of copies, and a
specific time interim.
117 Error Codes
The printer must be perfectly level. If tipped even slightly to the right
and/or rear, the oil pumps will not function properly. Refer to the Service
Manual for additional information.
Miscellaneous
•
Always wait at least 10 seconds after turning the printer off to
restart. Failure to do so may result in an incomplete POST and a
hung machine.
•
After 60,000 pages have been printed, the display will read "80 -
Scheduled Maintenance." At this point, the printer has
approximately 500 pages to print before shutting down. Refer to
your Service Manual for a listing of parts which will need to be
replaced.
•
Although Scheduled Maintenance is due at 60,000 pages,
running transparencies shortens the interval. This is because the
Cleaning Web is advanced twice as often with transparencies.
•
Do not attempt to defeat the Front Cover Interlock and run the
machine. There is nothing to see and the Rotary Manual Knob
will be locked and could be damaged.
•
The Top Delivery Door should also not be bypassed. Raising this
cover lifts the Density Sensor away from the Transfer Drum. This
will provide improper calibration levels.
Wiring
To avoid misconnection, all connectors are designed differently.
Print Quality
Refer to the Service Manual for the Print Quality Defect Samples and
explanations.
