    4026-0XX Diagnostics Start CAUTION: NEVER manually actuate or disable the top cover interlock switch and the printhead shutter actuator at the same time. To perform some of the service checks and tests, such as troubleshooting paper feed problems, you need to actuate the top cover interlock switch with the covers opened or removed and power applied to the machine.

    If the printer completes all these steps and no error indications are displayed, the printer has successfully completed the POST. If the printer has completed POST without an error and a symptom exists, go to the “Symptom Table” on page 1-12.     4033 Diagnostics Start If the adapter is replaced, the customer must delete all associations after removing the adapter from the LAN. When the replacement adapter is connected to the LAN, the customer must perform the configuration steps and establish new associations. Power Test The power LED should always be on when there is power to the adapter.

    • Models 20X and 30X: The following LED sequence occurs during a normal reset. A successful reset results in the Power and Status LEDs on and the Test and Data LEDs off. Status Test Data If an error is detected the LEDs will hang in their current state. Reset again and replace the adapter if the error recurs.

    Diagnostic Aids Sample Print Test (Models 20X and 30X) Press and release the Test button to send a single-page file to all ports. If the test is successful, go to “LAN Connection Check” on page 3-6. If the print test fails, go to “Wrap Test for Adapter Ports” on page 3-5. Wrap Test for Adapter Ports To test any port: 1.

    LAN Connection Check 1. For Token-Ring using shielded twisted-pair cable (Models 001, 011, 201, or 301): Disconnect the LAN cable from the network, leaving it connected to the adapter. For Ethernet 10BASE2 (Models 003, 013, 202, or 302): Make sure the switch is set to position 2 for Models 003 and 013, or position 16/2 for Models 202 and 302.

The following are suggestions to the customer for checking hardware and software for possible problems. If an error message is displayed on your machine, locate it in the Error Message Table below and take the appropriate action.

    5045 Refer to the Service Manual for information on removal procedures and part numbers. Diagnostic/Maintenance Approach This printer can be serviced without being connected to a host computer. This printer will display both operator correctable errors and service errors on the front (operator) panel. In addition, there are tests available from the Density Adjustment Panel on the back of the machine that bypass the video controller card.
