6.1 Parameter Setting Procedure

Using bar-coded parameter menus
Scan the "Start setting" bar code.
Scan necessary parameter setting bar codes.
Scan the "End setting" bar code.
NOTE: To set parameters given in Sections 6.2 through 6.5, follow
the flowchart on the next page. To set ones given in Sections 6.6
and 6.7, follow the instructions given in each section.
NOTE: When using the bar-coded parameter menus, scan bar
codes without a 3-minute or longer interval. If more than three
minutes have passed after a bar code is scanned, the scanner
issues a long beep, cancels newly scanned parameters, and
returns to the previous settings.
Factory Defaults
The factory defaults differ depending upon the cable type connected to
the scanner as listed below.
- If a Y-type cable is connected, all parameters are set to their defaults
as given later.
- If a straight cable is connected, the connection type is set to
"Without keyboard" and other parameters are set to defaults.
CAUTION: The factory default of the keyboard type is "U.S.
English (101-key type). However, if you choose "All defaults," the
keyboard type will be set to "Japanese (106-key type)." You need
to choose your keyboard type on page 11.
