• The first two words of the input area is automatically allocated for the I/O
Unit interface status information. This allocation cannot be changed.
• Words are allocated for the input/output data for each I/O Unit in the order
that the I/O Units are connected (I/O Unit interface addresses 0 to 3) in the
input area (input) and the output area (output).
