1.7.6 Facility
The Syslog Facility provides the approximate details on which part of the system the Syslog message
originated from.
Follow the steps below to configure the Syslog facility.

configure terminal

logging facility {local0 | local1 | local2 | local3 |
local4 | local5 | local6 | local7|}
Step 3

show logging
Step 5
write startup-config
The "no logging facility" command resets the logging facility to its default value of Local0.
The example below shows the commands used to configure the Syslog facility.
SMIS# configure terminal
SMIS(config)# logging facility local5
SMIS(config)# end
SMIS# show logging
System Log Information
----------------------
Description
Enters the configuration mode.
Configures the Syslog facility.
Exits the configuration mode.
Displays the Syslog configuration.
Optional step – saves this configuration
to be part of the startup configuration.
