3.3 Rangetop Flame Characteristics

LP gas: Slight yellow tips on the primary flame cone are normal and
may appear after a few minutes. The flame should be stable with no
excessive noise or fluttering. Orange colored streaks in the flame are
produced from burning airborne debris, which is normal at startup,
and should dissipate in a few minutes (see Figure 14).
When the flame is properly adjusted, it should burn completely around
the burner cap, at each burner port (see Figure 12).
