Four types of identifiers can exist in the certificate generated for the remote user.
Directory Name
IP Address
DNS Name
Email Name (RFC 822)

Configuring a remote user object

If you remote users use the default CCD, you only need to complete steps 1 through 5. If a
individual dyna-policy should be created continue with step 6.
1. From the Configuration Console window, click Users to list all User Objects in the
Contents column.
2. From the Contents column, select the User Object that needs to be configured.
3. From the General tab, select the DES check box if the VPNremote Client is limited single
DES (Data Encryption Standard).

A remote user using single DES encryption can only connect to a VPN using

4. (Optional) Click the Memo tab to bring it to the front, then in the Memo text box, type in
some information about the user. For example where the user will be dialing from or the
location their headquarters.
