In the Contact/Tally Mode 1 diagram, the IPL Pro S3 controls all six ports, as it monitors the
status of the ports through the RS-232 driver. The IPL also controls the display, sending the
command to power it On and Off.
Operation of Contact/Tally Mode 1:
• The Extron IPL Pro S3 is configured with GCP (see
for Contact/Tally Modes
and display via Extron RS-232 drivers, using Actions and Conditions configured to
control the devices.
• When contact ports 1, 2, or 3 are momentarily closed (shorted) with the Extron
Show Me cables, a command to switch video input is sent from the IPL to the switcher
via RS-232 drivers to switch to the appropriate input.
• The CCR 30 is wired to contact/tally ports 4 and 5 to send commands to power the
display ON and OFF. The IPL monitors the status of ports 4 and 5 via the RS-232 driver.
