Installing hot-swap EV-DDMs

With the exception of the DS4000 storage subsystem initial power up, add
EV-DDMs while the storage subsystem is turned on and running. Complete the
following steps to install hot-swap EV-DDMs in the storage subsystem:
Attention:
v After you remove a EV-DDM CRU, wait 70 seconds before replacing or reseating

the drive.
The green LED lights to indicate that the drive is properly
installed and is spun up by the DS4000 controller.
The amber LED flashes to indicate that a drive has been
identified by the software.
The amber LED lights to indicate a drive failure due to bad
or uncertified drive. The green activity LED might flash
once every 2 seconds, remain steady green, or be unlit.
Check for and resolve one of the following situations:
v DS4200 Express is turned off.
v DS4200 Express link rate speed is not set correctly.
Check for and resolve one of the following situations:
v The controller did not complete the boot process.
v DS4000 storage subsystem controller firmware is not
06.16.xx.xx and higher.
Drive failure due to the incorrect link rate speed setting or
internal drive hardware failures.
