Laying the connecting cables
Remove the lower grills of the two rear covers to lay the connecting cables.
You can cut out the pre-stamped recesses in the bottom of EC1 and top of the BC with a pair of
diagonal cutting pliers and break them out with a pair of flat-nosed pliers to lay the connecting
cables between the stacked cabinets.
Caution
In order to avoid injury, exercise caution when breaking out the recesses. Be sure to
remove any sharp edges or corners.

4.1.7 Earthing the system

Note on potential earth loops
Remotely operated devices (V.24 system peripherals) should be connected to the same
low-voltage network (sub-distribution board), if possible, to avoid earth loops from being
produced as a result of the use of these remote devices.
The use of a separate adapter transformer to isolate the external device may be necessary in
the event of a malfunction if the building layout does not permit the above to be carried out.
Protective earthing options
Danger
The Hicom 150 E OfficePro system and the MDFU/MDFU-E must be earthed by a separate
protective earth conductor (minimum cross section: 2.5 mm
Figure
4-6. When laying the protective earth conductor, ensure that it is adequately
protected and allow for sufficient strain relief.
Ignoring this may lead to danger!
