Select a RAID group or a THP pool to create S-VOL from the drop-down menu as needed. Click
Create S-VOL... to create an S-VOL.
NOTE:
PG/THP/Smart Pool which exists in the physical DKC of P-VOL to be operated is displayed
in the drop-down menu.
In the case of the HA configuration, PG/THP/Smart Pool which exists in the physical DKC
at the HA primary volume side is displayed. (Addition: PG/THP/Smart in a drop-down which
exists in the accessible resource that the user used with AddStorage is displayed.)
A dialog box asks you to confirm the creation of the S-VOL.
Click Yes (Y) to create the S-VOL.
Click No (N) to cancel.
While the S-VOL is being created, a dialog box displays the status of the S-VOL creation
processing.
The created S-VOL is displayed in the S-VOL list window and you can confirm the progress of
the initial copy in Pair Status in the S-VOL list window.
During initial copying, Pair Status changes to COPY and progress of the pair processing is
displayed as a percentage. When you click the Refresh button, the progress of the initial copy
is updated with the latest information. When initial copying is completed, "Pair Status changes
to PAIR.
Deleting an S-VOL
To delete an S-VOL:
1.
Right click on the S-VOL in the S-VOL list.
2.
Select Delete LU ....
The Delete S-Vol confirmation window is displayed.
3.
Click Yes to delete the S-VOL.
The S-VOL is deleted from the S-VOL list list.
NOTE:
For the VMware Guest to Guest Backup (FC) function, a dialog box to confirm that the S-VOL
to be deleted has not been RDM set in another virtual machine is displayed.
NOTE:
If the S-VOL to be deleted has been RDM set in another virtual machine and S-VOL
is deleted by using the GUI tool of the corresponding virtual machine, "All-Paths-Down (APD)"
or "Permanent Device Loss (PDL)" will occur on another virtual machine. Confirm that the S-VOL
to be deleted has not been RDM set on another virtual machine by using vSphere Client before
deleting a S-VOL.
Resynchronization (Resync) of BC pair
When the pair status of a P-VOL/S-VOL pair is PSUS, you can perform pair resynchronization.
1.
Right click on the target S-VOL in the S-VOL list.
2.
Select Resync LU ... to resynchronize the P-VOL/S-VOL.
The Resync S-Vol confirmation window is displayed.
3.
Click Yes to start resynchronize of the pair.
The S-VOL is deleted from the S-VOL list list.
NOTE:
Click No to cancel the deletion of the S-VOL.
Click No to cancel the resync of the pair.
