The installation process involves:

Preparing the tape drive by checking the SCSI ID and changing the
SCSI ID if necessary.
Preparing the computer by shutting down all applications and turning

off the power.
Connecting the SCSI cable.

Connecting the power cord.
Verifying that the tape drive is properly installed and functional by

running TapeAssure.
Installing backup software and drivers for your tape drive.

You do not need any special tools to install the drive. If you need to change
the SCSI ID on the drive, you will need a narrow pointed object such as a
ball-point pen or a small screwdriver.
