20 Alternate Preparing a Version 2.2 WLAN — Access Port (223x)
Also, ensure that the route between the WLAN — Access Port (223x) and the WLAN — Security
Switch (2270) can process IP fragmented packets.
7.
If no LEDs are on, the WLAN — Access Port (223x) is most likely not receiving power. If all the LEDs blink
sequentially back and forth for more than five minutes, the WLAN — Access Port (223x) is unable to find its
Primary, Secondary and Tertiary WLAN — Security Switches (2270). Check the connection between the
WLAN — Access Port (223x) and the WLAN — Security Switch (2270), and ensure the WLAN — Access
Port (223x) and the WLAN — Security Switch (2270) are either on the same subnet or that the WLAN —
Access Port (223x) has a route back to its Primary, Secondary and Tertiary WLAN — Security Switches
(2270). Note that the Nortel WLAN — Access Port (223x) at each remote location must be on the same subnet
to allow client roaming. Also, if the WLAN — Access Port (223x) is not on the same subnet as the WLAN —
Security Switch (2270), ensure there is a DHCP server on the same subnet as the WLAN — Access Port
(223x).
After you have prepared all WLAN — Access Ports (223x), reconfigure the WLAN — Security Switch (2270) so it is
not the Master. A Master WLAN — Security Switch (2270) should only be used for configuring WLAN — Access Ports
(223x) and not in a working network. Note that the Master WLAN — Security Switch (2270) is normally not used in a
deployed network, so the Master WLAN — Security Switch (2270) setting is automatically disabled upon reboot or
Operating System code upgrade.
Step 2: Configuring the WLAN — Access Port (223x) Before Installation on page 17
After completing
WLAN — Access Ports (223x) and Nortel WLAN — Access Port (223x), continue with

Alternate Preparing a Version 2.2 WLAN — Access Port (223x)
(223x)
If your WLAN — Access Port (223x) has Operating System 2.2 or a later version (which includes all Nortel Networks
WLAN — Access Port [223x]) loaded on it, you may choose to use this procedure. If your WLAN — Access Port
(223x) has Operating System 1.2 or earlier loaded on it, or if you do not know what version the WLAN — Access Port
(223x) has loaded, you must upgrade your system to version 2.2 before continuing
Note:
interoperate with a version 2.2 WLAN — Security Switch (2270). It also assumes that your WLAN
— Security Switch (2270) is already operating in LWAPP Layer 3 Mode. It also assumes that
you are using the Internet Software Consortium (ISC) DHCP Server V3.0pl1. Finally, it assumes that
if you have deployed multiple WLAN — Security Switches (2270), that the WLAN — Security
Switch (2270) you use to initialize the WLAN — Access Port (223x) is in an existing Nortel
Mobility Group with the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary WLAN — Security Switch (2270) you
want to assign to the new WLAN — Access Port (223x) or WLAN — Access Port (223x).
