Procedure 8 - Tilt In Space; Removing/Installing/Adjusting The Cable Assembly - Invacare ORBIT Service Manual

TILT IN SPACE
This Procedure Includes the Following:
Removing/Installing/Adjusting the Cable
Assembly
Removing/Installing the Cable Assembly from
the Release Pedal
Removing/Installing the Tilt Mechanism(s)
Repositioning the Release Pedal
REMOVING/INSTALLING/
ADJUSTING THE CABLE
ASSEMBLY
Removing/Installing (FIGURE 3)
1. Remove the seat frame from the base frame. Refer
to PROCEDURE 1 -TRANSPORTING in this
manual.
2. Unthread front cap screw completely off of threads
and onto exposed cable.
3. Rotate cable adjuster counter-clockwise four (4) to
five (5) times.
NOTE: Rotating the cable adjuster counter-clockwise will
produce slack in the cable.
4. Pull threaded portion of cable assembly back beyond
back tab of the tilt mechanism.
5. Slide the exposed cable out the side of the back tab.
6. Remove anchor end of cable from front tab.
7. Remove the cable assembly from the release pedal.
Refer to REMOVING THE CABLE ASSEMBLY
FROM THE RELEASE PEDAL in this PROCE-
DURE of the manual.
WARNING
When reinstalling the cable assembly, en-
sure that there are 4-6 threads exposed
beyond the front cap screw for proper
operation of the tilt mechanism.
8. To install, reverse STEPS 1-7.
9. Adjust cable assembly. Refer to ADJUSTING THE
CABLE ASSEMBLY in this PROCEDURE of the
manual.
