CHANGING THE WIDTH - SECTION A
SECTION A - CHANGING THE
WIDTH OF THE SEAT FRAME
(FIGURE 1)
NOTE: Refer to Procedure 1 - General Guidelines
which include GENERAL and SPECIFIC WARNINGS
concerning wheelchair stability.
1. Remove the seat frame from the base frame.
Refer to DISASSEMBLY in PROCEDURE 2 of
this manual.
NOTE: Note the orientation of the seat plate in re-
lation to the seat rails for proper reinstallation.
2. Remove the four (4) mounting screws and four
(4) washers that secure the crossmembers to
the seat rails.
3. Replace existing spreader bar with the NEW
spreader bar. Refer to REPLACING THE
SPREADER BAR in PROCEDURE 4 of the
owner's manual, part number 1073955.

4. Remove the four (4) mounting screws and four (4)
locknuts that secure the seat plate to the
crossmembers.
5. Secure the seat plate to the NEW crossmembers
with the existing four (4) mounting screws and lock-
nuts. Securely tighten.
6. Secure the crossmembers to the seat rails with the
four (4) mounting screws and washers. Securely
tighten.
7. Perform one (1) of the following:
A. If changing the width of the base frame:
SMALL SEAT FRAME SIZES - Refer to SEC-
TION D - CHANGING THE WIDTH OF THE
BASE FRAME (SMALL SEAT FRAME) in this
PROCEDURE of the manual.
LARGE SEAT FRAME SIZES - Refer to SEC-
TION D - CHANGING THE WIDTH OF THE
BASE FRAME (LARGE SEAT FRAMES) in this
PROCEDURE of the manual.
B. Reinstall the seat frame onto the base frame.
Refer to DISASSEMBLY in PROCEDURE 2 of
this manual.
