Adding/Subtracting a Tilt Mechanism

(FIGURES 2 AND 3)

NOTE: If changing from a small seat frame to a large
seat frame start with FIGURE 2 (which represents
the small seat frame) and work toward FIGURE 3
(which represents the large seat frame). If changing
from a large seat frame to a small seat frame, start
with FIGURE 3 (which represents the large seat frame)
and work toward FIGURE 2 (which represents the

small seat frame).

1. Engage the wheel locks. Refer to ENGAGING/

DISENGAGING THE HAND ACTIVATED

WHEEL LOCKS or INSTALLING/REMOVING/

USING THE FOOT ACTIVATED WHEEL LOCK
N in PROCEDURE 8 of the owner's manual, part
number 1073955.

2. Remove the cable assembly from the tilt
mechanism(s). Refer to REMOVING \INSTALL-
ING\ ADJUSTING THE CABLE ASSEMBLY in
PROCEDURE 9 of the owner's manual, part
number 1073955.
3. Remove the mounting screw(s), washer(s),
spacer(s), and locknut(s) that secures the top
portion of the tilt mechanism(s) to the seat plate
assembly.
NOTE: Washer and spacers found only on the
single tilt mechanism.
CHANGING THE WIDTH - SECTION B
4. Remove the mounting screw(s), and locknut(s)
that secures the lower portion of the tilt
mechanism(s) to the mounting bracket(s). Place
tilt mechanism(s) aside.
5. Remove the mounting screw(s), washer, and
locknut that secures the mounting bracket(s) to
the top front crossmember.
6. Secure mounting bracket(s) to the top front
crossmember with the existing mounting screw,
washer and locknut. Securely tighten.
NOTE: Single tilt mechanism will require one (1)
mounting bracket centered. Dual tilt mechanisms
will require two (2) mounting brackets off center.
7. Secure the lower portion of the tilt mechanism(s)
to the mounting bracket(s) with the mounting
screw(s), and locknut(s). Securely tighten.
8. Secure the top portion of the tilt mechanism(s)
to the underside of the seat plate assembly with
the mounting screw(s), washer, spacers, and
locknut(s). Securely tighten.
NOTE: Washer and spacers only required on the
single tilt mechanism.
9. Connect the cable assembly to the tilt mechanism(s).
Refer to REMOVING\ INSTALLING\ADJUSTING
THE CABLE ASSEMBLY in PROCEDURE 9 of the
owner's manual, part number 1073955.
10. Install the seat frame to the base frame. Refer to
DISASSEMBLY in PROCEDURE 2 of this manual.
11. Disengage the wheel locks. Refer to ENGAG-
ING/DISENGAGING THE HAND ACTIVATED
WHEEL LOCKS or INSTALLING/REMOVING/
USING THE FOOT ACTIVATED WHEEL LOCK
in PROCEDURE 8 of the owner's manual, part
number 1073955.
