Conferencing 7.
The SIP Registrar/Proxy server the Deskphone detects as the one and only
authoritative proxy at a given time. It is the highest priority available
controller.
The subset of Monitored controllers that respond to the 'Maintenance Check'
as part of determining available controllers during Failover.
A contact ("Presentity") for which presence information is to be received.
The list of controllers that the deskphone will attempt to monitor when
Failover occurs. The (list of) elements in the SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST
parameter, which can also come from Session Manager and the user
interface.
The new name for a SIP proxy, for example, Session Manager, or a local
gateway, or local survivable gateway.
Differentiated Services, an IP-based QoS mechanism.
Extensible Authentication Protocol, or EAP, a universal authentication
framework frequently used in wireless networks and Point-to-Point
connections defined by RFC 3748. EAP provides some common functions
and a negotiation of the desired authentication methods, two of which are
EAP-MD5 and EAP-TLS. When EAP is invoked by an 802.1X enabled NAS
(Network Access Server) device such as an 802.11 a/b/g Wireless Access
Point, modern EAP methods provide a secure authentication mechanism
and negotiate a secure PMK (Pair-wise Master Key) between the client and
the NAS.
