INSPECT IDLE GEARS
(a)
Using a cylinder gauge, measure
the
inside diameter
of
the
idle gear.

Using a micrometer, measure the diameter of the
idle
gear shaft.

Subtract
the idle gear shaft diameter
measurement
from the idle gear inside diameter measurement.

lf the clearance is
greater than maximum, replace the gear
and shaft.
