■ TRAILER TOWING

CAUTION
If you don't use the correct
equipment and drive properly,
you could lose control when
you pull a trailer behind your
vehicle. You could have a
serious accident.
For example, if the trailer is too
heavy, the brakes may not work
well, or they may not even work
at all.
You and your passengers could
be seriously injured.

NOTICE
Pulling a trailer improperly can
damage your vehicle and result
in costly repairs not covered by
your warranty. To pull a trailer
correctly, follow the advice in
this section.
If you think you want to pull a
trailer, see your dealer for infor-
mation on your vehicle's trailer
towing ability.
CAUTION
It can be very dangerous to
drive with the cargo area
covered and the tailgate
and midgate open. Carbon
monoxide (CO) gas can come
into your vehicle. You cannot
see or smell CO. It can cause
unconsciousness and even
death.
To maximize your safety when
towing a trailer:
• Have your exhaust system
inspected for leaks, and make
necessary repairs before
starting on your trip.
• Never drive with the midgate
or the rear-most window
open.
• Make sure that the air outlets
on or under the instrument
panel are fully open.
