FINAL DRIVE
Heat the gear case cover to 80°C (176°F) evenly
Be sure to wear
using a heat gun.

Do not use a torch to heat the gear case cover; it
may cause warping.
Drive the bearing into the gear case cover.
Install the shim onto the ring gear.
Support the bearing inner race w ith the special tool
and press the ring gear into the bearing using a
hydraulic press.
TOOL:
Base 105 x 1115 x 65 mm
Apply grease to a new oil seal lips.
Install a new oil seal until it is flush w ith the cover
surface using the special tools.
TOOL:
Base 105 x 1115 x 65 mm

FINAL GEAR CASE ASSEMBLY

NOTE:
When the gear set, bearing and/or gear case has been
replaced, check the following:
• Tooth contact pattern (page 14-11)
• Gear case backlash (page 14-9).
Clean the mating surface of the gear case and cover,
Keep dust and dirt
being careful not to damage them.
